RATHSKELLER: A MUSICAL ELIXIR Heads to NYC for Industry Presentation

Rathskeller: A Musical Elixir — book, music, and lyrics by Brianna Kothari Barnes, conceived by Dame Productions — is heading to New York for an industry presentation this fall.

Leading the cast: Hannah Shankman (National Tour of Funny Girl; Broadway's Wicked, Side Show, Les Misérables, Hair) as The Bartender, and Zack Zaromatidis (NBC's The Voice; National Tour of Bandstand; Off-Broadway's Animal Wisdom) as John.

They're joined by Kristin Wetherington, Giuliana Augello, Saige Smith, Juliana Lamia, Adam Huel Potter, Amaya White, Madeline Benoit, Ruby Calamia, and Mason Charles Purece.

Direction is by Trey Compton, with music direction by Alexandra Crosby (SIX, Rocky Horror Show, Real Women Have Curves, Suffs) and choreography by Krystyna Resavy (Ragtime, The Cher Show). Casting by Lara Hayhurst.

About the show: Part rock concert, part social experiment, Rathskeller follows John Casey, a young songwriter trying to get his mother out of an abusive marriage — until ambition curdles into desperation and he wakes up in Rathskeller, a dive bar in the basement of the afterlife. With a powerhouse punk-rock score, the show puts the audience in charge of how John's story ends.

Rathskeller was named to NAMT's 2026 Recommended List and will receive its first fully produced production this fall at Jansen Art Center in Lynden, WA.
