Rathskeller Named a 2026 NAMT-Recommended Musical

Rathskeller has just been named a 2026 NAMT-Recommended musical by the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, ahead of their 38th Annual Festival of New Musicals (Oct 22–23, New World Stages, NYC).

This punk-rock musical about choices, addiction, and the afterlife has had quite a journey: born in a sold-out New York workshop, honored with Best Musical and Best Choreography at the BroadwayWorld Off-Off Broadway Awards, developed through The SheATL Festival, and staged with a live 5-piece band at Zeiders American Dream Theater — where The Virginian-Pilot called it a hot purgatorial rock musical with a radically ambiguous stand on justice and mercy.

Now it's earning national recognition and crossing the country, all at once. At the center of it all: John Casey, a young songwriter fighting to save his mother, only to find the addiction he grew up resenting waiting for him in the afterlife.
